Thanks to a generous donation from the Grants Pass Daily Courier, the foundation was able to award its first grants in December 2006, barely five months after formation. $500 matching grants were given to each of the nine elementary schools in the Three Rivers School District to help pay for Artists in Residence to conduct school-wide arts programs in a variety of media. The foundation will announce a second round of arts grants, this time to the middle and high schools, in the 2007/08 school year. In order to continue making regular awards, the foundation will raise funds from the community and from other revenue sources.
